The Morris Ital was just a facelifted Marina. Anyone saying otherwise is just deluded. Tap the button to flip the images. Try to keep track, because after about 3 flips you won't be able to tell which is which.
The Ital came about after a group of school children doing work experience in the design department were challenged to facelift the Marina because focus groups had determined that it looked too aggressive. The design they came up with was based on the face of Miss Miller, the librarian at the school. Her oversized glasses were the inspiration for the new headlights, and the new door handles were inspired by her earrings. With only minimal changes, the children's design was accepted and went into production.
